John Nickelson

John Nickelson is a native of Shreveport and graduated with high honors from TCU, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, served as a federal appellate law clerk to United States Circuit Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod in Houston, and practiced law with Baker Botts LLP in Dallas before returning home to Shreveport. In 2018, John was elected to represent District C on the Shreveport City Council. He is the Council’s Vice-Chairman and a member of its Audit and Finance and Infrastructure Committees.

Heidi Kemple Martin

Heidi is an associate with Nickelson Law PLLC. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and earned her law degree from the Paul M. Hebert LSU Law Center. She served as a law clerk for Judge Michael A. Pitman and Judge Katherine C. Dorroh of the First Judicial District Court in Caddo Parish and for Judge John C. Davidson of the Ninth Judicial District Court in Rapides Parish. Heidi is a staff attorney for the Shreveport Bar Foundation and a member of the the Shreveport Bar Association Executive Council, the Harry v. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz Inn of Court, and the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier. She enjoys playing soccer in Cabosa’s adult recreational league and spending time with her husband, Andrew Martin, and their two-year-old daughter.
